  12. I have a small netware 3.11 network (1 file server, 5 
  13. workstations) with a parallel printer on the file server.
  14. I have just replaced an ESDI drive and controller on
  15. the file server with an IDE drive and controller at 
  16. the same time I upgraded the server from ELS netware 286
  17. to the latest netware version.  I have a printer set up
  18. on the file server.  When printing large reports, once in 
  19. a while the printer will beep and I will get 10 to 15
  20. characters of junk (looks like non-ascii characters)
  21. which destroys the entire report.  I have tried changing
  22. the interrupt number on the printer (using pconsole)
  23. from 7 to 6 but then other workstations couldn't see
  24. the file server. I suspect doing this conflicted with the
  25. network board but I am not sure about this.  I have also
  26. tried changing the printer from being interrupt driven
  27. to using polling but the same problems occur.  I have
  28. also decreased the buffer size from 3K to 2K and 
  29. things seem better.  The last report seemed to go on
  30. longer before it received garbage.  I know it isn't
  31. the application because other applications (such as
  32. quicken) have the same problems when printing.
