- : Quick question for all you out there. We are considering useing BURST
- : mode IPX on our network and I had a few questions:
- :
- : 1) what kind of performance increase can I expect?
-
- Tests have shown a 30-50% increase across slow Wan links
- and 10-20% over regular network connections.
-
- : 2) what problems have people had using the PBURST.NLM/BNETX?
-
- If you use the latest you should have no problems.
-
- : 3) If I were to decide to use the burst mode, where/what do I need
- : to do to get the NLM?
-
- Look for the DOSUP6.ZIP file. Bnetx.exe and Pburst.NLM will
- be included. Look carefully at the readme as there is important
- information about using the Burst mode with or without Security
- patches.
-
- Also be aware that the lan drivers used at workstation and server
- are very important. IF you have any cards that have drivers
- included in the DOSUP6 file, then use these drivers. IF you have
- other third party Lan Cards, check with Vendor for compatibility
- with Burst mode.
