- Any one out there running troff
- and formatting to a laser printer?
-
- While installing psroff3.0,
- on both a 3447, 3550, 3600 and StarServer E,
- I could find a troff (apparently ditroff type)
- but no ditroff.
-
- NCR people, I am sure you must be typesetting
- troff, right?
-
- Thanks,

- PS: Might be old news for some ...
- The stock syslogd daemon has a serious bug when it writes
- to a user. This bug seems to be pervasive to all SVR4
- systems, it was also present on a Sun Solaris machine.
- Bug description: syslogd forks off when writting to user
- without waiting for the child, and zombie processes accumulate.
- Can fill the process table and crash the system. It happened
- on a 3550 with over 400 users ...
- Fix: Get the excellent svr4 port of BSD syslogd by Marc Boucher
- Compiles fine and does not have the bug.
- Available at cam.org, systems/unix/svr4/svr4.0.3-syslogd_1.3.tar.Z
