- There is a different mind set to the installation, but essentially it
- isn't all that bad. You load the software from tape (or some other
- install media) then setup your driver files. These have the advantage
- of being "smart" and recognizing when software needs to be loaded and
- when it can skip a package. Since there are nearly an inifinite number
- of combinations the packages can be installed, using driver files makes
- sense. This isn't a simple "put in the media and install/update the
- software" configuration. Using the driver files allows you to go back
- and make minor changes to the installation process and configure each
- node or group of nodes independently.

- I have to say that I prefer the v8.0 installation process over the v7.0
- install except in the case where I just want to install one option very
- quickly from tape or CD. That's when driver files become a little more
- of a pain.
