- After lots of thought, I went to 7.1 (from 7.01 tuned) over the last
- month. I've been using the machine heavily at all times since then,
- and I've noticed at least a moderate increase is spped of graphics
- operations. Also, the system partition starts about 200k smaller than
- 7.01 did with the same set of inits, etc. (It grows a bit, though.) I
- haven't noticed any incompatibilities with existing software,
- including some things that the CompatChecker warned me about. And I
- definitely LOVE the fonts folder. Fonts move fast, and they don't
- fragment your drive as much since they're not part of the sys file any
- more.
