  17.     I would think that this would depend on how much future the Macintosh has.
  18. IMHO, the Macintosh is nearing the end of it product life-cycle (remember
  19. "Apple II Forever"?).  I for one am looking forward to migrating ASAP to a
  20. PowerPC running Pink.  My impression is that the plan is to convert the entire
  21. Macintosh line to PowerPC hardware within about two years.  Maybe it will still
  22. be called a "Macintosh" and can run existing Mac software through emulation
  23. and/or native primary toolbox calls.  But I assume it will also run Pink.
  24. Given the choice of using the existing (and increasingly) kludgey toolbox calls
  25. vs working with a truly OOP, truly multitasking, protected mode operating
  26. system, which would you choose?

  28.     My point is that the name "Macintosh" may or may not relevant within the
  29. near future.
