  13. Excellent comments.  I too have been concerned about the charter for MADA and
  14. whole-heartedly agree with you that "Macintosh" should be retained in the name
  15. and the emphasis continue to be on the Macintosh platform.  This does not mean
  16. that we cannot also consider and discuss other platforms--indeed, it is
  17. probably in our interest to foster the cross-platform discussions but not at
  18. the exclusion of the Macintosh.

  20. So I'd like to submit the name "Macintosh Advanced Developers Association" for
  21. our organization.

  23. As I said in my campaign statement I believe that MADA has the responsibility
  24. to advocate our needs with the various hardware and software manufacturers:
  25. specifically Apple.  We do need to keep MacApp alive until we find suitable
  26. alternatives.  We do need to provide transistion assistance to our members when
  27. those alternatives become viable.

  29. If MADA doesn't retain its focus on Macintosh then we might as well just
  30. subscribe to JOOP, SCOOP, C++ Journal, etc. and attend their conferences.
