  10. I have an old MacII, with a Dove Marathon 030 accelerator.  Some time back
  11. we bought two FDHD drives and installed one of them in my MacII. It reads
  12. 800K disks fine, but all 1200K disks are read as being damaged, with bad
  13. sectors, or totally unreadable. (The same 1200K disks read fine on other
  14. Macs.) As we had bought two FDHD drives from Apple, we tried swapping the
  15. upgrade ROMs, and then tried swapping the drives.  Same problem. The drives
  16. worked fine when put into a IIsi, but refuse to work in my MacII.
  17. When the drives are installed in my MacII, the diagnostic program "Peace of
  18. Mind" indicates the disk drive is bad, but all other hardware is OK.
  19.  
  20. I have run out of things to try, and have essentially given up, and
  21. switch to another machine when I need to use a High Density disk.
  22. Has anyone else had this experience, or any suggestions? Is there some
  23. incompatibility with the Dove Marathon 030 and the FDHD?
