  24. This sounds like a job for MS Word 3 or later (or MS Write), which permits 
  25. overstrikes, superscripts, subscripts and so forth in its Formula capability;
  26. the
  27.  Symbol font has a leftward arrow in character Option-Shift-u and a rightward
  28.  arrow in character Option-Shift-'
  29. perhaps you want o(*,A) where the arrows have been subscripted and
  30. superscripted manually; or perhaps o(sdo3(*),s(A)) where the subscript and
  31. supersc are nested within the overstrike; or maybe just s(*,A) suits you.
