- I am having a big problem with my secretary's Mac, and our
- systems department doesn't seem to have a clue (what else is
- new?)...
-
- The Machine:
-
- Mac IIsi
- 5 megs RAM
- 40 meg hard disk
- Radius portrait monitor (which flips into landscape if you want)
- 68881 fpu
- ethernet connection
- system 6.0.8
-
- The probem:
-
- This only occurs for Microsoft Excel 3.0. When you click
- on the menu bar, the menu choices do not appear. The program
- appears to function normally and all of the hot-keys seem
- to work.
-
- I have re-installed the system several times. I have checked
- for virii with SAM. I have used Norton utils 2.0 and checked
- the entire disk for any abnormalities. Nothing seems to help.
- Switching back to a bare bones 6.0.7 seems to work, however,
- up until today, she had been using 6.0.8 with no problems at
- all.
-
- Any ideas? Shall I sprinkle a few drops of chicken's blood
- on the cpu and hope for the best? :-/
-
- Any information would be greatly appreciated. If you'd
- like to post a reply, feel free, but please also send me
- a copy by email.
-
- in exasperation....
