- I installed DeskPicture 3.0.2 on a IIci and IIvx under these conditions:
-
- Images stored as PICTs by GIFConverter 2.2.10, formerly GIFs.
- Used PICT Compressor (Quicktime) to shrink them, default compression.
- IIvx running 7.1, IIci running 7.0.1/1.1.1, both 8-bit internal
- video.
-
- When running with DeskPicture active, and very similar INIT sets,
- there is a NOTICEABLE lag on the vx when you move a window, and
- in screen refreshes in general. So much so that one would think
- it's an LCII or IIsi. This lag is NOT there on the IIci; window-
- filling and refreshes are all as quick as one would expect.
-
- I originally thought that this was a *visible* manifestation
- of the vx's 16Mhz motherboard, but then I remembered that the
- vx has dedicated VRAM, the ci system RAM.
-
- What gives, o net gods?
-
- Thanks in advance for any help/wisdom,
- Shawn Barge
