- One way to get ftp software requires Fetch and StuffIt Expander.
-
- A very good source of ftp!able files for the Mac is
- sumex-aim.stanford.edu. _Especially_ if you avoid connecting during
- California daytime hours. If sumex is too busy, you can try
- wuarchive.wustl.edu, which has an identical copy (mirror) of the sumex
- files.
-
- Fetch is the software that goes out there and gets the file, StuffIt
- Expander de-compresses almost anything that you get. A good way to find
- out what is new is a daily update called InfoMac, which is located in the
- subdirectory im, in the subdirectory digest, at sumex.
-
- Both Fetch and StuffIt Expander are free or shareware, available from
- sumex. How a beginner with no suitable software can de-compress Fetch, I
- don!t know :-(
