- Has anybody out there made the Research XFCN (by Ari Halberstadt; housed in
- a stack called Demostack, in an archive called Practical XFCNs 0.92) work?
- It is designed to do UNIX-style regular expressions. When I use the "chunk"
- and "global" options, it seems that it returns only the first hit as an
- offset from the beginning of the container, while the following hits in the
- same container seem to be reported as offsets from the preceding hit. Worse
- than that, it seems to find only a part of the hits it should find in a
- container.
-
- I would like to use this XFCN for a stack of foreign-language research
- materials, because it is very fast, but with these shortcomings I might
- have to settle for something slower like SearchPlus XFCN. If you have used
- Research XFCN successfully, please contact me by e-mail, I'll summarize to
- the net.
