- Hi all,
-
- I will soon be needing to write an interactive simulation of a
- manufacturing system, and someone suggested SuperCard could do it.
- Since I don't know any SC experts, can someone in this group
- tell me whether Supercard can do the following? I've browsed
- through the manual but don't have all the answers.
-
- 1) Create new objects while running, based on a random number generator.
- 2) Drag an object across the screen, and have the location where it's
- dropped be an input to the scripts.
- 3) Create a file of everything that happens, along with the time it
- happened. (I'm pretty sure it can do this.)
- 4) Draw one object on top of another (so that the one underneath is
- partially occluded).
- 5) Change the shape of an object based on some input to the script.
- 6) Change the colour of an object based on some input. (I think a
- message in this group mentioned a traffic light turning from green
- to red, so I gather this is possible.)
-
- One way to look at what I'm doing is as rapid prototyping of a
- manufaturing system direct-manipulation control panel, so if anyone
- has any pointers to systems other than Supercard that might be more
- appropriate, please let me know. I couldn't find a rapid-prototyping
- newsgroup.
-
- Thanks very much!
