- DasStar has a card that holds both. It's called the LC equalizer. I think it
- will cost about $240. For the same amount of money you can expand your LC
- to 10 Meg RAM. Which is a much better investment IMHO. I don't think you'll
- need more than that on a machine like the LC (i run MPW on my LC and i never
- run out of memory with 10 Meg). And the FPU will be useful only if you do
- massive Math calculations. It won't speed your DTP programs, neither the
- compilers. It'll accelerate Excel a little bit, but for the typical classe of
- applications for an LC the fpu is rarely used.
- My advise : get 2 4MB SIMMs for the money and forget about the PMMU. At least
- you can take the SIMMs to another machine when you upgrade, the PMMU is an
- obsolete solution for an obsolete processor (68020). You may need more than
- 10MB's if you are running Photoshop, but hey, Photoshop on an LC ?. The FPU
- may worth the money if your applications does some number crunching, it's up
- to you to decide.
