- I got careless last week and picked up my Powerbook from the desk
- without looking. Something had hooked the door and broke it off.
- Sigh. But then I got to looking at it and decided to try to fix
- it. The little nub was gone and a small bit of the raised portion
- was gone but most of that base was there. So I took a large
- paper clip and heated it. Using the clip I pushed the plastic
- around a little to build up the platform and pushed the clip into
- the base. As the clip cooled, it stuck. I cut the clip off with
- just a nub sticking out of the door, filed the nub round on the
- end so it was about the same size and the nub that had broke off.
- Walah, it works. I reinstalled the door and its fine. The
- work is hardly noticeable. Something to try if you break that
- prize machine.
