  17. Three possible problems:
  18. 1) Defective cable, see Marshall's previous post.

  20. 2) Modem cable.  The effect is the same as (1), same treatment too.

  22. 3) Wrong port.  Connect the cable to the modem (phone icon) port on the back of your
  23. Mac, and make sure the modem port is selected when you choose the driver.  The printer
  24. port will work, but the modem port is the standard place to connect a printer, as the
  25. printer port is the standard place to connect AppleTalk (don't ask me, ask Apple).
