- The floptical is, unfortunately, a format that never caught on. Looking
- through the ads, I see that the only people making the drives are PLI and
- Applied Engineering. I can only find one or two sources for the diskettes.
- I think that for the price, the floptical is a great bargain. I considered
- buying one recently, but was turned away when I saw the lack of popularity.
- If you buy one now, stock up on disks and consider what you have to be all
- the media you'll ever get. I expect the format to die out completely in a
- year or two.

- Anyway, one can get a Syquest for ~$399 these days. The price per megabyte
- is a little more expensive than the floptical.
