- I've got a problem with my hard disk. I turn on the power, and
- all I get is a few seconds of silence, followed by a faint "bonk"
- sound. Used to be more like a "whirrrrrrrrrrr chuga chuga chuga."
- It's a PL30 with a Seagate 138N inside it. Are there any obvious
- things I should try before I write off all my data and use it as a
- doorstop?
-
- I did call PL tech support, and we confirmed that the interface card is
- at least getting power. There are no obvious burn marks or anything that
- looks out of the ordinary to me on the interface card.
