  14. I've got a problem with my hard disk.  I turn on the power, and
  15. all I get is a few seconds of silence, followed by a faint "bonk"
  16. sound.  Used to be more like a "whirrrrrrrrrrr  chuga chuga chuga."
  17. It's a PL30 with a Seagate 138N inside it.  Are there any obvious
  18. things I should try before I write off all my data and use it as a 
  19. doorstop?

  21. I did call PL tech support, and we confirmed that the interface card is
  22. at least getting power.  There are no obvious burn marks or anything that
  23. looks out of the ordinary to me on the interface card.
