- Upon exmanining my ports I now realize there are only 8 pins. There must be
- a misprint in the HP brochure, which says you need an "open serial post (9-pin
- mini-din)."
-
- Also, I kinda found what I was looking for, but I still need help.
- I found this is a file about Capnet:
-
- MINI DIN - 8 (female looking at the rear of the Mac)
-
- ------- INSIDE NOTCH ("N")
- ( N )
- ( O O O )
- ( 8 7 6 )
- ( O O O )
- ( 5 4 3 )
- 2 ( O O ) 1
- --------
- N OUTSIDE NOTCH
-
- RCV(-) 5
- RCV(+) 8
- TX(-) 3
- TX(+) 6
- GRND 4
-
-
- So at least I know where the ground goes, and have a 50-50 shot of getting the
- TX right, but that's still 40 combinations to try. So I still need some help.
- Thanks.
