- I have had a similar problem with two duo 230s I purchased. In each case,
- after about 8 hours of use, the lower button would click twice for each
- time I pressed. To be more precise, it made a 'click' sound twice,
- but only registered one click, so it was more annoying than a real problem.
- I took the first one back, but when it happened on the second one I
- decided to take a look (not wanting to spend another 3 hours moving
- files over appletalk). It seems that the circuit board under the button
- eventually flexes. In my case that meant a second click sound, but I could
- see that after a longer amount of time it would mean no click at all!
-
- What I did was to wedge a thick peice of paper between the board and the
- lower case of the unit, this prevents the board from flexing down when
- you press on the button. Has been workng for the last week no problem.
-
- I also don't like the way the bottom corners of the keyboard bend when
- you press a key - it has the same problem - there is no support under
- those corners. When you drop $2500 on a machine, you would think it
- would not have this kind of manufacturing defect!
