  17. Hooking up two Macs using a printer cable is just fine, if you're ONLY
  18. hooking up TWO macs.

  20. If you want to transfer files between two machines, or connect a printer, than
  21. you CAN use the printer cable.

  23. However, if you want to hook up more than TWO devices (machines, printers,
  24. whatever), than you need the network adapters (PhoneNet, etc.). In general,
  25. you can also run the lines of the network cable father than you can run that
  26. printer cable. In addition, running phone line 100 feet for use with a 
  27. PhoneNet box costs less for the cable than a 100 foot piece of printer cable would!
