- I have a powerbook that I occasionally take to work. On my desk at
- work I have a IPX with serial ports a&b. First, the serial connections
- on the sparc look the same as a mac (RS422?). Do sparcs with this
- connector share the same serial port pinout as macs?
-
- Secondly, has anyone ever connected a mac to a sparc this way? What
- speeds will the connection be able to support? Also, I have heard of
- CAP, but have not had a chance to ever use it. Is CAP capable of making
- the serial port connector of a Sparc look like localtalk? Is this
- possible or would special hardware be needed to support this? If
- it is possible, would the Sparc serve as a bridge to the ethernet for the
- mac?
-
- Thanks in advance!
