  15. I am a student and Mac SE owner who is looking to squeeze every last bit of
  16. use out of my machine.  I can not afford to upgrade to a new hardware set-
  17. up and that means no new mac for a long time :'(
  18. The problem is that I need a SuperDrive or other HD drive so I can start
  19. a meaningful DTP business.  The AE Plus drive is an outragous $300 so I am
  20. investigating the 21M Flopticals, which seem to offer an ideal solution.

  22. My question is: Has anyone used these drives and will they really work
  23.     with 800k and 1.4M floppies?
  24. I have heard that the PLI drive is not very reliable, how about the Mass
  25. Microsystems drive (mail order ads)?
  26. Are there any alternatives?

  28. By the way, I need this drive for backups and for reading DOS floppies.
