- Greetings,
-
- I am a student and Mac SE owner who is looking to squeeze every last bit of
- use out of my machine. I can not afford to upgrade to a new hardware set-
- up and that means no new mac for a long time :'(
- The problem is that I need a SuperDrive or other HD drive so I can start
- a meaningful DTP business. The AE Plus drive is an outragous $300 so I am
- investigating the 21M Flopticals, which seem to offer an ideal solution.
-
- My question is: Has anyone used these drives and will they really work
- with 800k and 1.4M floppies?
- I have heard that the PLI drive is not very reliable, how about the Mass
- Microsystems drive (mail order ads)?
- Are there any alternatives?
-
- By the way, I need this drive for backups and for reading DOS floppies.
-
- Please e-mail me the responses, I will summarize for the group.
-
- Thanks a lot.
-
- Andrew
