- Hi,
-
- I have a new APS Quantum LPS240 external disk that every 30-60 seconds goes
- into seek mode for about 2-3 seconds. It does this even when the disk isn't plug
- into the Mac. If I just have the power applied to the drive and at least one scsi
- cable or terminator connected it does this.
-
- I called APS and the first guy I got said that it wasn't normal and had me
- check some jumpers on the drive. The second guy I called said that it was normal
- for the disk to do this when it is idle to fix a 'sticktion' problem. When it
- does
- this the drive access light doesn't come on.
-
- Is this realy normal???
