- Sorry if this is something asked before but I could not find
- any references to it in the last 1000 messages...
-
- I'm trying to install a Quantum prodrive 210(S) as an internal
- second disk in a Quadra 950. I removed the terminators located on
- the disk (controller) and connected it to the SCSI cable coming
- from the first disk (this cable seems to be terminated, correct?)
- , and plugged in the power-cable from the B-outlet on the power-supply
- to the disk. I set the jumpers on the disk to have ID 3 (I think, I tried
- different settings anyway).
- When the computer starts up the disk spins up, it makes some noises
- and the little green lamps blinks once and then it becomes quit.
- The Mac boots up on the first disk but my Quantum wont show up.
- SCSI tools can't find the disk (when they scan the bus for
- SCSI-devices the lamp on the disk blink again).
-
- So my questions are;
- -Is the Quadra internal SCSI special in some way?
- -There are 3 jumpers marked SS,EP,WS next to the SCSI-ID pins.
- EP is connected, leaving SS and WS open. Is that correct?
- -Should I give up and buy a external case for my drive,
- and will it work then?
-
- Thanks for any kind of advice.
