- I recently posted a question in this group about problems we're having upgrading
- a Mac Plus from 2.5 megabytes to 4 megabytes. Thanks to the many people who
- responded, indicating that resistors R8 and R9 need to be cut. I went and
- checked and they are indeed cut (actually, one is cut and one isn't there). So
- I'm still puzzled as to why the Mac Plus won't boot properly with 4 megabytes.
- The vendor who sold us the additional 2 megabytes claims that they worked when we
- returned them (two separate attempts:one set was 70 ns access, the other
- 100 ns).
-
- Do all 4 sets of megabyte chips have to have the same access time? (Our current
- working set says "M8" on the chips, so I'm guessing they're 80 ns.) Is there
- anything else anyone can think of that might be causing this problem?
-
- Sincerely,
- Bob Feldman
