  35. There really isn't anything to fix; it is a matter of interpretation.  When
  36. you find "School St." you are looking for all records that contain "School"
  37. and "St." in that field; you are not looking for the string "School St." in
  38. the field.  It works as designed.

  40. Now, whether that is the optimal design is another consideration.  One
  41. possibility is to enhance the application by adding a metacharacter to
  42. represent a space in a search.  I don't know whether the FileMaker team is
  43. considering this, but I do know that some of them read this newsgroup.
