- I've never used the auto assign myself...so I can't couche
- for it working. I might suggest that you FIRST save the Clinet
- file before you go to the included layout. By saving it, may make it
- accessible to the AD file.
- What I usually do is create a separate file to generate unique
- ID numbers for a file. Then I use an assign command when the
- related file is created...i.e.
- Create Client in the input layout. This does NOT automatically
- create a new AD file.
- Next, create a new AD file, either automatically upon a new
- Client file, or when the input AD layout is opened. (I test
- to see if the unique ID number filed is empty, if so I assign
- it the ONE file unique ID number).
- Next save the AD file.
