- This is something I don't think I've read here before, so here goes.
-
- As you know, when someone on your net has a FMPro file open as non-exclusive
- anyone on the net can try to open it via the Network button in the open
- dialog box. This also applies if a person happens to be calling up with
- ARA !!! Even if you're ARA access is limited to a dropbox on the server,
- you can still launch FMPro at the remote end and try hacking passwords til
- the cows come home.
- I consider this a *MAJOR* weakness in an otherwise superb piece of software.
-
- A friend and I were discussing the FMPro security over a few beers and we
- can't think of any realistic method of boosting the security, other than
- making all your files exclusive; which is impossible in my situation and
- most other peoples', I'll wager.
-
- If anyone has any advice; I'm all (electronic) ears.
-
- Thanks!
