- Two methods come to mind. If you have a Hayes modem, try sending the modem the
- command &T19. Hayes also wrote a stand-alone application that used this
- command to the modem to check the cable.

- Or, use a continuity tester to check the connections to the Mini-DIN-8
- connector at Pins 1 and 2 as follows:
