- I had a similar problem with my Duo 230, my solution was to make a copy of the
- disktools disk, then to remove the Finder and to put "Norton Utilities" app
- on there - but rename it "Finder" (I had to use ResEdit to do it and mess with
- the Finder info until it looked to the system like the Finder does -
- same type & creator (all this was done on another machine btw - 'cos the
- Duo's HD was trashed and I needed Norton to recover it). I managed then to
- convice the Finder that this was a system disk by moving the System & my
- pretend-Finder out and then back into the System folder. This produced a
- disk which I can boot my Duo with, which starts up Norton Utilities directly,
- and which I used to repair my harddisk.
