- A DOS question....
-
- In order to run a couple of in-house DOS programs I have SoftPC (ver. 2.52) on
- my PB100 (yes, it is slow but it beats spending the money on a DOS laptop).
- Anyway, one of these programs requires a math co-processor to run. Since
- my PB won't support an FPU and SoftAT won't run on a PB100 anyway I thought
- I'd try to emulate an FPU within SoftPC itself with a DOS program. I FTP'ed
- a copy of 'EM87v1_3' which emulates a 8087 co-processor (according to the
- enclosed docs this has most of the functionality of a 80287) and got it to
- run. My application, however, refused to acknowledge the existence of the
- software FPU. I pulled up a copy of Lotus 1-2-3 and checked to see if it
- knew I "had" an FPU. No dice. Any ideas about how I can get this to work??
- Or should I just give up and buy a PB180 with an FPU :).
-
- Any suggestions appreciated....
