- My wife and I are trying to put out the Apple-Dayton newsletter and
- have noticed a small problem when we print to our Deskwriter. In many
- instances, inter-word spacing becomes almost none existant, esp. with
- bold text. This problem does not seem to appear when we print to a
- PostScript printer. The PageMaker screen shows it correctly. It is
- interesting that HP's print preview even shows the words crushed
- together. Does Pagemaker hate TrueType or QuickDraw printers? Is it
- common with other supposedly WYSIWYG word processing/layout programs,
- like Word or MacWrite? Some version numbers may help:
- ATM V2.0.3
- Deskwriter Driver V3.1(Serial)
- Pagemaker 4.2
- System 7.0.1 with Tuneup
- I'm interested if there is some hidden Pagemaker/Deskwriter flag that
- I need to set. I should mention that I have HP Fonts, font substitution, etc.
- all turned off. ATM/TrueType was supposed to make those settings
- obsolete, weren't they?
- Please email me directly if I can supply more clues as to the cause of the
- problem.
