- Announcing Paragram 1.0
-
- Overview
- Paragram is a tool which aids the application developer to model and
- develop parallel and distributed applications. Paragram offers a
- sophisticated application development environment which employs a modern
- graphical user interface. This enables the user to easily visualize the
- interaction of the various program elements intended to operate in parallel.
- When the application definition is complete, Paragram can generate an
- executable representation of the application.
-
- Paragram supports both MIMD and SIMD styles of parallelism, and uses a
- simplified data-flow diagramming technique to model the parallel
- interactions. With Paragram, applications may be constructed to utilize
- both styles at once. SIMD parallel application modeling techniques are
- created through the very powerful paradigm of node replication without
- specialized hardware.
-
- With Paragram, a local network of workstations/servers can perform and
- behave like a powerful multi-processor supercomputer. Paragram allows
- applications to be scalable. As the number of processors in the network
- increases, more data can be processed in a fixed amount of time.
-
- System Requirements
- 88open compliant system with X windows, C compiler, and sockets.
-
- Paragram version 1.0 is an 88open certified software product.
