  12. I have a relatively new Mitsubishi 40 meg MFM formatted drive,
  13. I believe the model is MR535 but I may be wrong.  .  It works
  14. fine but it rattles.  I ignored the problem for a while because
  15. I figured I had just failed to install something with a tight screw,
  16. but on examination I now see that the rattling is inside the drive.
  17. It is driving me mad.. sounds like a loose screw, periodically
  18. stopping, starting again at a different pitch, stopping again.
  19. Is this the way it is supposed to work?  The drive works faultlessly
  20. and is relatively silent when read/write accessing.  Unlike the
  21. 7 year old Miniscribe in the same machine which is silent until
  22. accessed, then makes a bit of noise (as it always has anwhich
  23. I consider normal for this drive!).

  25. I don't imagine I should open it up and look for a loose screw?
