  155.     Welcome to the fourth edition of the Net PC Games Top 100. As this is
  156.     the last edition of the month, we thought it was interesting to see
  157.     which games are the ones most voted for in this first month of 1993.
  158.     There were four editions of the Top 100 this month. Since the first
  159.     (initial) edition was not compiled using votes, we had points
  160.     available only from editions 2, 3 and 4 (this week).
  161.  
  162.     Most of the points were from this weeks edition. For one reason this
  163.     is because the number of respondents around the world is growing
  164.     rapidly (at about 30 new voters every week). The second reason is that
  165.     votes are used for four weeks in a row, for people who don't send us
  166.     new votes. Due to lack of time, we didn't weigh the votes from the
  167.     three editions, so the influence of the editions is not balanced.
  168.     However, we don't think this is a serious drawback.
  169.  
  170.     You will notice some differences between the regular Top 100 and this
  171.     overview of the month. The main reason is that this list is compiled
  172.     using only the votes sent by e-mail. For the compilation of the
  173.     Top 100 additional data is used, like the traffic in the newsgroup,
  174.     the history of the games in the chart and the lifetime of the games.
  175.     See the documentation for more info on this subject.

  177.     I will keep this short, because of the lengthy extra list. Next week
  178.     you can expect some inside information on the software we designed for
  179.     the Top 100. Detailed statistics concerning votes and voters will
  180.     probably be ready the week after that.

  182.     Please bother us with serious suggestions. We had a few and they are
  183.     all considered. Funny questions are welcome too.
