- I am just beginning this game, but I have some input to add to some
- postings I've seen.
-
- First, I got the 'uweditor.zip' file from ftp wuarchive (it's elsewhere
- also) that was supplied for UWI to edit the 'player.dat' files (change
- players strength, combat, attack, dexterity, defense, etc...) and
- 'have' used it on UWII... you have to play around with the values
- you put in there... I haven't figured out yet the equations of how
- one number in strength affects Vitality or Mana, but there seems to
- be a correlation... anyway you can save a game in slots 1, 2, 3 that
- are the same game and apply different numbers to each of them, outside
- of the game using 'uweditor.exe' and re-enter the game and see how it
- goes, turns out... anyway, I have highest attack barehanded at 217
- strength points.... I can go along for a couple of days and then I
- have severe inventory number carrying problems of where I get the
- message 'can't carry anything more' and I re-edit the player.dat
- and can carry on again... not too disturbing.
-
- Somebody posted the hint to give 'full-lighting' throughout the
- game by erasing the 'shades.dat' file from /uw2/data directory.
- It works!!! I didn't mind doing this, because it was darker
- here in UW2 then I remember it being in UW1, and it bothered me
- to no end...
-
- I have been all through the eight level of the Prison Towers
- and couldn't get through the huge steel doors in level 2, perhaps
- later in the game....
-
- I found the two gazers in level3, defeated them, opened the chest,
- found no 'moonstone' in my game there, even did it twice....
-
- Haven't found the reaper on level 4 of the sewers.... think I've
- been all over that level too...
-
- Still, I've been able to visit the huge blackrock on level 5 and
- get to the Prison Towers, Ice Caves, and Kilhorn Keep....
-
- At this point, I have been back to the castle a few times...
- and I have 'no' servants' strike, Nystul 'is' talking to me
- and warming the stones I found and take to him.... I think that
- it may have to do with the responses you make to Anna in first
- talking to her when the trouble began... myself, I sympathized
- with her and told her I would talk to Lord British on her
- behalf..... so perhaps your responses affect how the game goes
- at certain key points???
-
- Don't know, just trying to give a few responses.
