- Ummmmm, this might sound a little crazy but....
-
- Immerse your HP 48 in distilled water in a 3-layer zip-lock bag, and keep
- it that way until you can get it to a repair facility or can contact
- somebody with bona fide HP 48 hardware knowledge!
-
- It seems that it is not water that affects the electronics but the drying
- out. Yeah, I know this sounds ludicrous but it seems to be the case. I got
- my Olympus OM-2 wet one day while canoeing in the Florida Everglades. I had
- read that in the event your camera gets soaked, immerse it in distilled
- water until you can get it to a certified fix-it joint. I did just that and
- the fix-it guy said it was probably good advice. He knew what to take apart
- and how to dry the thing correctly. Which he did, and my Oly has never
- worked better! (It's also pretty nice and clean inside! :-) )
-
- Sorry if this information is coming along a little late. But in the event
- this happens to anyone else, perhaps they will be saved by it.
-
- Good luck.
