- I dropped him a line, and thus he writes (giving permission for me to
- quote him here):
-
- Work on the compiler has stopped for a while... I am in my last year of
- an engineering degree and I don't have too much free time.
-
- I have never had any instruction on how compilers work, so I just sort of
- made it up as I went along. It's probably horribly inefficient and awful.
- I don't have any way of knowing. Anyway, the thing (as a bare-bones
- framework) is almost finished. It will take a source file and generate
- STAR-syntax assembly language, but STAR can't handle it because there are
- some required macros which I haven't finished. It only has a few data types
- implemented, but adding more is simple. There's not much of a library, yet.
-
- The big problem is that I'm not really that interested any more. I want my
- 11C back -- the neatness of being able to do stuff on a machine that small
- has worn pretty thin. I can't think of any real, useful applications for
- a C cross compiler for the 48. I still have the code around, but I can't
- honestly see it getting finished any time soon.

- sooooooooooooo any volunteers to continue the project.
-
- I don't know a bit of C, so can laugh it off?
-
- Ahh well, drop him a line if you want to take over.
- his addr (again): bgribble@jarthur.claremont.edu
-
- thats it really!.
