  13. An old ham radio cure for transformers whose windings are
  14. shorted and not open is to soak the flyback transformer in
  15. shellac varnish for a few days.  Before you do that, you
  16. might check and see if the thermistor has not gone bad.  If you
  17. have an open flyback winding, it likely will be at a connector
  18. you can easily get at and repair.
