- An old ham radio cure for transformers whose windings are
- shorted and not open is to soak the flyback transformer in
- shellac varnish for a few days. Before you do that, you
- might check and see if the thermistor has not gone bad. If you
- have an open flyback winding, it likely will be at a connector
- you can easily get at and repair.
