- Answers in reverse order:
-
- (2) The most known FTP site is ccosun.caltech.edu. Under the subdirectory
- /pub/rknop is much Commodore stuff. Other sites are cvawes.stfx.ca (or cwaves)
- and oswego.oswego.edu.
-
- (1) As you are using PC, the easiest way is to download x1541.exe from ccosun.
- Then you just make a cable between your PC and your CBM disk drive. There are
- some instructions when you execute the file. (This should be added to the FAQ
- file (also available from ccosun), I think.)
-
- Another solution is to use a program that makes 1571 or 1581 read PC disks. But
- how can you get this program to your C64, if you don't have any other data
- transfer methods? There will sooner or later be also a program for 1541 to read
- MFM disks, but it involves a very little modification to the drive (a trace
- must be rerouted).
-
- The RS232 solution is painfully slow if you use the user port method. You would
- need a real RS232 interface that costs somewhat more.
