  16. The answer to the first question is "sort of," and the answer to the second
  17. one is "that depends on how lucky you're feeling" :-).

  19. I was in a hurry; zillions of people have been asking for updated source,
  20. but I simply haven't had time to do a 'real' release. So I threw together
  21. the files from my directory and sent them up. In the process I left out
  22. asm.y by mistake; and the usual README file didn't get written. Sorry
  23. about those omissions; I will try to correct them, but it will be some
  24. time before I can get a real, organized release including the Lattice
  25. and PureC support, plus docs. MultiTOS is consuming an enormous amount
  26. of time; as with any software project, the closer it comes to release
  27. the more urgent are the bug reports.

  29. So consider this an "interim" release, for people who just can't wait
  30. and who don't mind risking life, limb, and hard disk while testing
  31. new software :-).

  33. Also: as Mike pointed out in his message, this is also a source code
  34. only release. Please observe this restriction. As beta software, MiNT 0.99
  35. is suitable for use only by experienced programmers, and I *don't* want
  36. people misunderstanding its status at all. Moreover, this release contains
  37. Atari code as well as my own, so observing the restrictions on distribution
  38. is doubly important -- how well people respect the conditions will determine
  39. whether or not we will release future versions of the MiNT source code
  40. to the general public.
