- I hope you aren't calling the 68040 just a speed doubled 68030. The 68040
- has numerous improvements including a larger internal cache and a Floating
- Point chip on board. The larger cache makes it a lot easier to implement
- a machine without resorting to wait states or even to an external cache.
- The 256 bytes of data and instruction caches each was one of the main reasons
- the TT was really not that fast a machine.
