- Hello, all!
-
- I recently pulled all the gcc/g++ files off of umich. At least I
- thought I did. I haven't had time to install them here at school yet,
- but I gave my Dad a copy at home and he's been having some problems
- getting it working. So he asked if I'd use my USENET feed (since he
- lost his some time ago) to post a few questions about the
- installation.
-
- So here they are. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
-
- 1. What programs/files do I need to run GNU c and g++? This includes
- libraries, header files, programs and anything else important.
-
- 2. Where do they go? (as far as directory structure and such.)
-
- 3. What kind of environmental variables are needed?
-
- As I said above, I thought we'd gotten all the important archives off
- of umich, but apparently it looks like we're missing some of the
- files. Also, I guess some of the files got garbaged up somehow (most
- notably a few of the include files).
-
- So any answers I can get to the above three questions would really
- help us get this whole thing set up. As both my Dad and I are looking
- to learn c++, this seemed like a decent system to start up with.
-
- Thanks in advance for your advice!
-
- Joe
