- This is not meant to start a flame war, and it is probably best to resist from
- following up if at-all possible.
- I thought a few ST users (and would be Falcon users) would be interested to
- know that there are several problems with the A1200.
- 1) The modulators have a habit of failing after an hours use. One guy
- in c.s.a.h is on his 4th because of this problem, and several others have had
- more than one replaced. As far as I know this problem has not been ironed out
- yet.
- 2) Misc. display glitches. These appear on all machines when using
- certain monitors and the problem looks here to stay.
- 3) Under-powered PSUs. Some early ones cannot handle HDs.
- 4) Keyboard problems. This appears to be a serious problem, which
- might not be fixable. Symptoms are keys sometimes not responding and keys
- registered as pressed after one pressed later is. This basically means you
- can't use the machine for wordprocessing unless you can't type.
-
- The other problems I reported earlier seem to have been fixed now.
