  12. There seems to be growing concensus that we need to get an advocacy group for the
  13. st. I've thrown together the following letter, so please mail me with your
  14. opinions and if they're positive then I'll formally post it on
  15. news.announce.newgroups.

  33. This is a request for discussion on the creation of a newsgroup for
  34. debates about the Atari ST personal computer.

  46. This group will separate a section of discussion from the current
  47. newsgroup comp.sys.atari.st.

  49. The discussion of advocacy currently takes up over 50% of the items
  50. in the atari.st newsgroup and so it is felt that the original
  51. purpose of the newsgroup is being left behind.

  53. New users and people who need information about the Atari ST can
  54. continue to use the original group and would hopefully get more
  55. attention if there is less advocacy mail present.

  57. What a FAQ for this group could contain is also a matter for
  58. discussion.
