  14. And just for the record (and hoping that all the David PZs, and Marinos
  15. Yannikos' and Warwick Allisons out there are reading the words here, and
  16. not the blank spaces between them), while I might not go so far as to
  17. say that I think my 520 ST (original TOS 1.0 version) is the "best computer
  18. in the world", it IS the one I prefer to use, over all the other ones at
  19. my disposal...

  21. In addition to what you said about the impressions given by those who
  22. almost mindlessly either support or "bash" Atari computers, I think the
  23. same kind of impressions can be drawn from those who out of their seeming
  24. insecurity about their own computer find it necessary to "bash" everything
  25. and anything that's NOT the same as their chosen computer.  I'm constantly
  26. amazed by the feeling that attacking or lying about a different kind of
  27. computer will somehow make "my" computer better...

  29. Unfortunately, as I mentioned in another posting, I think a lot of this
  30. is due to the effects of the market.  People who own a computer in a
  31. thriving, vital market have better things to do with their computers than
  32. to engage in flamewars..

  34. The lack of new products to talk about, the lack of places to buy new
  35. things for our computers and the lack of a feeling of support gives us
  36. very little to talk about, and that vacuum becomes filled with the kinds
  37. of things that flamewars are born of...
  38.  
  39. Saying "Well, there's nothing much new for my computer, but PCs suck"
  40. fills the void.. but doesn't say much for the person saying it...
