- Hmm.....I had thought it was a 32Mhz 030. Since the rest of the stats jive
- it just must've been my quick read of MacWeek.

-
- No, it was NEVER that expensive, it was always 1500 or so. Now, with the
- release of the LC III, Apple said that since the LC II sold so well
- they would keep it and sell it for $1000. Sorry for more bad news.

- >Probably uses SIMMS as well 8-( (Unlike these odd RAM boards)
-
- Yes to confrim you fears, it uses SIMMS.
-
- I think this bodes some serious problems for the Falcon. I mean the LC II
- isn't the best computer in the world, but it's a Mac and except for the
- Falcon's awesome sound, is very comparable to the Falcon. (Except it has
- a real expansion slot.) Since it is selling for essentially the same price
- as the Falcon (in it's 4/65 configuration) I think Atari is going to have
- to do some serious marketing to sell it to anyone. And considering I have
- only talked to ONE person who didn't already own an Atari who even knew
- what a Falcon was (and it blew my mind...HE mentioned it first!) I think that
- Atari has it's work cut out for them.
-
- Right now our campus computer store is selling a IIsi 3/40 for $830 (w/o
- monitor and keyboard). Of course it's the normal Apple "Buy them cuz we
- ain't gonna make no more" blow out sale. But this is NOT the kind of thing
- that Atari need right now.
-
- Just venting some steam. Has anyone seen a Falcon for sale commerically in
- the US yet? Canada? Apple's DSP board is comming. Tick. Tick. Apple's
- Handwriting extention is comming. Tick. Tick. Power PC chips are rumored
- to be $50 per with machines due out by years end (Byte). Tick. Tick.
- Apple's has geared from High Profit/machine to Low Profit/Machine + high
- Volume and still made money. Tick. Tick. Color Mac portables coming. Tick.
- Tick.
-
- Is this bomb gonna blow before Atari wakes up? I mean Apple might be the
- second best vapor artist in the business but they usually do deliver
- eventually (and not all of it will fail to suface.)
