  18. Hmm.....I had thought it was a 32Mhz 030.  Since the rest of the stats jive
  19. it just must've been my quick read of MacWeek.

  26. No, it was NEVER that expensive, it was always 1500 or so.  Now, with the
  27. release of the LC III, Apple said that since the LC II sold so well
  28. they would keep it and sell it for $1000.  Sorry for more bad news.

  35. I think this bodes some serious problems for the Falcon.  I mean the LC II
  36. isn't the best computer in the world, but it's a Mac and except for the
  37. Falcon's awesome sound, is very comparable to the Falcon. (Except it has
  38. a real expansion slot.)  Since it is selling for essentially the same price
  39. as the Falcon (in it's 4/65 configuration) I think Atari is going to have
  40. to do some serious marketing to sell it to anyone.  And considering I have
  41. only talked to ONE person who didn't already own an Atari who even knew
  42. what a Falcon was (and it blew my mind...HE mentioned it first!) I think that
  43. Atari has it's work cut out for them.

  45. Right now our campus computer store is selling a IIsi 3/40 for $830 (w/o
  46. monitor and keyboard).  Of course it's the normal Apple "Buy them cuz we
  47. ain't gonna make no more" blow out sale.  But this is NOT the kind of thing
  48. that Atari need right now.

  50. Just venting some steam.  Has anyone seen a Falcon for sale commerically in
  51. the US yet?  Canada?  Apple's DSP board is comming. Tick. Tick.  Apple's 
  52. Handwriting extention is comming.  Tick. Tick.  Power PC chips are rumored
  53. to be $50 per with machines due out by years end (Byte).  Tick. Tick.
  54. Apple's has geared from High Profit/machine to Low Profit/Machine + high
  55. Volume and still made money.  Tick. Tick. Color Mac portables coming. Tick.

  58. Is this bomb gonna blow before Atari wakes up?  I mean Apple might be the
  59. second best vapor artist in the business but they usually do deliver 
  60. eventually (and not all of it will fail to suface.)
