  22. Hokay. I'm not trying to flame here, just answering the question.
  23. Point one: They're still selling Atari's. I never said they totally stopped
  24.            selling them. In fact, I think they still have a healthy
  25.            turnover there...
  26. Point two: They advocate using the Mac more than they recommend using the
  27.            Atari.
  28. Point 3  : Most musician's are not too fussy about which computer they use,
  29.            as long as it doesn't cost too much, and it has suitable software.

  31. Seemingly irrelevant points? I say nay!! Let me explain.
  32. The store does not reccomend Atari because of its price tag. It is a lot 
  33. cheaper than the Mac (I'm not talking about list price - I'm talking about
  34. their prices). And yes, I have been there to compare the prices...(not too
  35. recently, though). They claim that the sequencer's on the Atari are inferior
  36. and limited although they're not (they used to compare both computers, where
  37. the Atari would run rings around the Mac - again, THEY demonstrated this.)

  39. So as for the question, IMHO, a retailer could become (and in this case, HAS)
  40. "anti-Anything" if there were significant monetary gains to be considered.
  41. One more point, the store has been selling Atari's for a long time, so if
  42. there were any dissatisfaction with Atari (they order the computers from
  43. Sunnyvale) they would have dropped Atari long ago. 
  44. Atari's used to sell a lot ---> They actively backed it.
  45. Mac's are very popular now ---> They actively back it (to gain monetary profit)
  46.                                 But they must actively dis-support Atari in
  47.                                 order to win their customer's over to the
  48.                                 Mac side.
  49. There! Those were the gist of my rants.
  50. All this, is an EDUCATED opinion. After all, I know some people involved AND
  51. I know some musicians involved. Nowhere did I hear that they were having 
  52. problem's with Atari Corp.
